Memorial Day Weekend started off the beginning of Summer and I'm getting ready to start my Summer months at the Farmer's Markets! I have opted out of Pepper Place this year instead to support my local communities of Homewood.
The West Homewood and Urban Cookhouse farmers markets will be back and bigger than ever! I'm so excited to be apart of both. It all begins on June 7th at the West Homewood Farmer's Market and runs every Tuesday until August 30 and the Urban Cookhouse market runs on Saturdays from June 18 to August 20.
There are some changes this year that will hopefully gain more exposure. The Urban Cookhouse Market will be moved from the SoHo parking lot to the large concrete pad on the Central Avenue side of Homewood Central Park which will give greater visibility to passers by. West Homewood is planning more vendors compared to the years before and so far there are no set dates on the fall markets.
I'm so excited to contribute to my neighborhood markets this year. I hope to sell some of my artisan jams and pickles to many who have not have tried them before from the year before at Pepper Place. It will be a long, hot summer, but I'm happy every morning or afternoon to set up my booth and give back my joy of what I love to do. Yes, it's corny but it does put a smile on my face along with knowing that I'm also helping my community that I was raised in.
I have so many new ideas and flavors that I can't wait to share with everyone (including some non-sugar jams that use honey/coconut sugar) so please come by and see my booth at either West Homewood or Central Homewood. Below are some dates and special events that I will be attending, it's going to be a great summer and hope to see you there! Mark your calendar!
